Ooooh sweet green joy!!
You cannot even imagine how excited I am about the flood of green smoothie love coming in on the lines! Enjoy these gorgeous pudgy-faced pictures and Green Smoothie Love!
“My first day was an adventure. I love greens, but haven’t been able to tolerate them in smoothies in the past. For breakfast, I had a repeat of my first ever green smoothie: a bunch of Swiss chard, a banana, some water and a teeny bit of Stevia. Very green. Perhaps more fruit would help, but it was good. For lunch I had the same (Swiss chard, banana, water, stevia) but I added half an apple. This was waaaay too sweet and still too “green”.
Soldier on!
Tonight’s smoothie (still finishing it up now) is made up of Swiss Chard, 2 kiwis and half an apple. A little thick, but very tasty. And filling! Best one yet for sure. Tomorrow I’m going to try a berry one. So far, so good! Oh, and I haven’t had to eat anything BUT the smoothies because they are so filling, I’m not even hungry!! I’ve washed my blender and my smoothie is almost gone, but I promise I’ll take a picture of my berry green smoothie tomorrow morning!
I would NEVER have even TRIED this without you! How cool.
Ellen, a ‘virgin’ green smoothie gal”
Ellen, I smell Larabars and I don’t know why!
I have to be honest and say that when I got this next one, I melted! Soooo flattering and FINALLY!! it’s from A MAN!! Thank you, Adam!!
“Dear Green Smoothie Queen,
Thank you for pestering me! Your emails are stupendously moivating and may the whole world be infected with your enthusiasm for green smoothies!
Here is some feedback.
I used your program to ‘challenge’ fruit after two months of no sugar. I had a bad breakout of candida after a lot of stress at work and too many died fruit and nut snacks. Stress for me = binging on nuts
So I did my stomach in. I had all the confidence after living on a green smoothie every morning and beautiful fresh raw food for lunch and dinner that now would be the time to start introducing fruit into my diet, but it seems to have been too soon!
To be fair, I have been a bit of a stress-bunny at work, so I am not really blaming the sugar. But I backed off the new smoothies I was going to try on the three day challenge and just continued with my usual routine of green.
I have converted my dear mother to the way of the green smoothie, however ; ) Give me a pat on the back! She has now overcome constipation, a condition she has had for years and years and tried every remedy under the sun!
Keep inspiring,
Adam W. (Melbourne, Australia)
Oh how perfectly delicious to have Green Smoothie love from across all those oceans! We gave Adam some helpful suggestions about following up with Dr. T, and hope that he starts feeling more fruit friendly soon!
“OK, here are a few quick thoughts (I would love to write my own ode to green smoothies some day because they have helped me eat healthy and feel better) –
I’ve been drinking green smoothies for the last several months, and when I traveled for work in March I realized the food I missed most was my green smoothies so I purchased a travel blender before traveling again in June. That was about the time I stumbled upon your website! By early summer I was drinking a green smoothie nearly every day and sometimes twice. Just about a month ago I decided to make a health commitment and purchased the Blendtec Total blender! Now I’ve been able to be sure to have my quart of green smoothie every weekday morning before rushing out to work because it’s SO much more efficient. I truly feel energized and no longer even miss my morning coffee! Since then I’ve also been eating more and more raw foods and feel great, and my husband feels like he has his “Tami” back after over 2 years of suffering from Fibromyalgia symptoms! (That is the short version of course)
This morning I started the day with over a quart of green smoothie: 2 bananas, chard, and lots of blueberries. I blended it with 2 large chard leaves first and gave some to the kids and then added another banana and 3 more chard leaves. Yumm! I had an early lunch of a salad with a wonderful green dressing, and then rushed off to our county fair for the afternoon. Besides water I did have a smoothie at the fair, you know the kind that come out of box even though they say it is made of all real food — no so yumm. Back at home I grazed on some veggies from our most recent CSA box and then made another quart of smoothie and didn’t tell my family how yummy it was until it was all gone!
— it was several apricots (5 or 6 … I didn’t count but used all we had), a bunch of kale, a banana and some ice, and then a handful of frozen blackberries. Thick and so refreshing!!!! Since I was in a hurry to watch more Olympics I neglected to take a picture before drinking it either!
My goal tomorrow is pictures AND some fun creations from your ebook that my 3 year old, the ultimate picky eater, will not be able to resist! But now I have to put a sleepy 3-year-old to bed and watch some more Olympics.
Thank you for helping me Wake Up and Smell the Green Smoothie!
Tami Groth”
And we simply couldn’t resist including the quote that Tami has attached to her email messages!
“Everything I’ve learned about life can be summarized in three words:
‘It goes on.” ~Robert Frost
And here’s the latest recipe from Ms. Marnie Sweet Greens (she ACTUALLY signed up with this name!! How great is THAT?!):
“I think one of my favorite ways to start the day is the following smoothie:
about half the blender full of spinach
1 cup of orange juice
1 banana, frozen
I cut up the banana before freezing because my blender can’t handle a whole banana frozen solid! Delicious!
-Marnie Sweet Greens”
“Dear Green Smoothie Queen,
Thanks for the excellent 3-day green smoothie challenge! Those of us raised on the standard American diet can especially benefit. My husband Zach takes a quart of green smoothie to work most every day (his co-workers think he’s nuts, but ask to try some on occasion). Our little 8-month old Isaac loves green smoothies and will grunt until we share our smoothies with him.
Today we had a Rainbow Orchard smoothie:
1 peach
1 orange
1 banana
1/3 cup blueberries
1 bunch of rainbow chard
2 cups of water
Thanks again for the challenge,
Angie in Michigan

Here’s a picture of adorable Isaac! Can you get any cuter than THIS!??! I’m not sure, but we can certainly get as cute! Keep reading and you’ll meet “Jai” another green smoothie poster baby!
Hi Divas!!
Just wanted to give you ladies a wonderful update on my progress.
I’ve lost 2 lbs already!!! I really don’t eat a lot, but I had 2 big smoothies yesterday and an avocado.
Today I made my ‘Green Dream Supreme’ (in the pic attached) with coconut water, strawberry, banana, orange, flax seed, broccoli and spinach. My 5 month old son Jai had his first green smoothie today and I think he likes it! (other pic attached)
I feel so good I will extend my Green Smoothie Feast to at least 5 days instead of 3!!!
Thank you for creating such a blissful experience!
xoxoxoxo

“I’m not really good at this “sending pictures” buisiness but decided to take a picture of my two tumblers full of my Green Soothies along with my furry pillow, green flowers (notice the parsley tucked in) and the raw foods I put in my smoothie. I’m fortunate enough to have a green fig tree, lots of peppers of all kinds and beet greens. I picked the Piglet balloon because he’s my hero….the only skinny pig I’ve ever known.
Kaydee”
Kaydee also sent us some great pictures of the fresh figs she’s putting in her green smoothies EVERY DAY!! Thank you, Kaydee!
“Just thought I’d let you know that I’ve been eating about 85-90% raw for the past few weeks and lost 7 pounds while doing it, but couldn’t get past that certain weight that I was stuck at. While doing the Green Smoothie Challenge, I was able to get past that weight and lost 2 more pounds. While 2 pounds may not seem like much….remember that it was 2 pounds in only 2 days (not even the 3 days for the challenge) and it has boosted my self-esteem and I know that I can do even better! Thank you so much for this wonderful program! You are the best!!!
Hugs & Blessings,
Brenda”
“Just wanted to send a quick thank you for the 3 day challenge and also the detox. I’m doing everything at once with my whole family (modified for the little kids, of course) and we’re all loving it. My 7 month old just finished eating her green smoothie mixed with organic baby oatmeal to thicken it up and she downed 3/4 of a cup! My 2 year old is sucking back his second cup as I type this and my husband powered his back before his workout. I’m leisurely drinking mine over the course of the afternoon to keep me from snacking on other less healthy choices. Here’s the recipe for what we’re drinking right now…one of our new favourites. I made it up just according to what was in our fridge needing to be used up. It’s huge, so we blended it in bits and combined it in a big jug to keep in the fridge, but it would be easy to cut in half or quarters if you wanted less.
Summer Blender Brew
4 nectarines, pitted
4 plums, pitted
4 kiwis, peeled
2 peeled bananas, fresh or frozen
2 cups blueberries
1 huge handful of baby spinach
1 long english cucumber
4T ground flax seed
Blend and enjoy!
For our weekly playgroup this past week I decided to host a Family Friendly Green Smoothie Brunch. It was a huge with with mamas and kiddos alike! We made the above recipe and a few others from your sites and other sources and served them in large jugs. On the table we also offered fresh slices of everything that was in the smoothies. I wish I had remembered to take a picture – it was gorgeous! The kids drank from special big-kid stainless steel wine glasses and we mamas used martini glasses. The only thing that would have made it better was a better blender…hint hint!
Thanks again for everything!
Nicole (Alberta, Canada)
This last one was from Nicole, and when we asked her to send in the number of guests she had at her place for her Green Smoothie Party and once she let us know that including the dogs and cat it added up to a whopping 34 guests, well, we couldn’t resist letting her know that she was the proud new owner of a Blendtec Total Blender.
And here’s what she had to say:
“OH MY GOODNESS! Are you freaking kidding me? I am SOOOOO EXCITED! My husband will explode with happiness – I told him I wanted to save for one like yours if I didn’t win it and he thought I was insane but would have indulged me, because he’s just that cool.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I have never won anything more than 5 bucks on a lotto ticket so you made my year!
AHHHHH…my heart is palpitating!
Whoohoo!
Smiles,
Nicole “
And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is exactly why we’ve been busting our little butts and emailing until our fingers tingle to bring you the very best we could for this first annual Green Smoothie Day celebrations. We have so enjoyed this adventure and we will be doing one final update tomorrow announcing all our winners and sending out big “Thank Yous” to our Sponsors!
Catch you tomorrow for the rest of our Green Smoothie Awards! Keep smiling and keep those blenders humming,
Love and hugs,

What a great post. I’m so excited for everyone, and very flattered that you quoted me.
And the pictures of the babies — oh they are truly scrumptious! Big kudos to those mamas.
This Green Smoothie Challenge has inspired me to just dig in ans start writing where I’m at day-by-day, and eventually that Ode or other testimonials will just flow right out. Plus by writing I hope to find additional inspiration. You can find my baby-blog here: http://learningtoeat.wordpress.com/
Thank you Raw Divas!

OK! I just got the cincher of all calls. My 7 year old neice was here from Washington, DC, she was here thru the Green smoothie challenge (it was 4 days for me
! The first dayof the challange, I made fruit only smoothies – I had to work my way up to something so new. I gave her some of my smoothie and SHE LOVED IT! I loved it too! It was 1/4 pineapple, a frozen banana and a big handful of frozen blueberries. It was so awesome. Then for lunch, the same thing except I put a several handfuls of spinach in it and put it in her cup with a lid. She took several swallows before she realized that his time that “yummy smoothie” was green! Both of us were hooked from that point on!
I took her to the airport this morning after our morning green smoothie. Her Mom just called me and told me that Aziza had her stop at the store before they went home from the airpost for fruit and spinach so that she could finish the last day of the challenge!!! Her Mom and I are so grateful to you for this! Have a GREAT green smoothie day!

Oh my lord..what great visuals..what great stories…I’m so bummed that my camera is down or else I could have showed you how NOT to make a green smoothie! (Make sure the topper is on BEFORE you turn it on!) The screams and giggles that ensued afterward were priceless though! I just love spontaneous green smoothie joy!
Thanks so much for all the great infomation, inspiration, and extra recipes. The Powder room has also been wonderful and I hope it starts to get really hopping! I know there are lots of divas out there that need a little help – just like me – and it’s great to know you are not alone.
What a blessing that Nicole won the blender and all those green smoothie babies just make my eyes tear up.
Thanks again Green Smoothie Queen! You are the best!!!!

I am really getting into this green smoothie adventure now! Here’s what I created this morning:
Chocolate Lover’s Green Smoothie
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 cup frozen strawberries
a handful of spinach
a heaping spoonful of unsweetened cocoa powder
agave to taste
I can’t believe how filling these green smoothies are and I really do get a boost of energy from them. (Next time, I’ve gotta add flax or hemp seeds!)
Although I REALLY REALLY want a vitamix or blendertec — for now, I’m using my Magic Bullet and blending right into the mugs — which helps me to control my portions.
Thanks, Raw Divas, for getting me started!
Thank YOU, Sarah, for sharing this super yummy smoothie and your enthusiasm with us!!!
Mmmmuah!
