Being back has been liberating! I’ve been reading, exploring and preparing my mind and my body for the 90 days ahead. The snow is melting and the sun is warm– a sure sign that Spring is  on the way! I’m so ready for it!

First, a couple questions I’ve received.

How To Prepare for The 90-Day Detox

Okay, my lovelies.

Here’s what I’m going to be doing and what I suggest YOU do over the next couple days as we prepare for this extensive detox! Last night I was detoxing my laundry pile, my dusty room, my bookshelf and my fridge! It felt GREAT!

Here’s a little idea that will help you out a lot:

People Manage Their “Stuff” Like They Manage Their Thoughts

As we’re gearing up for the detox (and throughout the entire program) take the time to put your “stuff” in order. I know Vanessa Stewart, The Clutter Free Diva, is the QUEEN of decluttering, and she’ll be doing an office declutter program in March.

You can get started in preparation for this detox, by cleaning out the things related to your diet and food. If there are things you KNOW are going to tempt you, then get them OUT OF THE HOUSE! That’s by far and away the easiest method for handling cravings!

When you’re living with other people, this is easier said than done, and I understand this.  I’ve made the decision that cooked food will have no room in my house over the next 90 days. I’m not quite sure how to arm wrestle with my children on that issue, but I’m going to have to get disciplined, creative and COMMITTED.

And you will, too, my dear, if you’re following along with us on the program, anyway. If you live with other people that don’t share your commitment to cleaning out toxins, then consider preparing a shelf, just for your stuff. Make a sacred, special place where you keep YOUR things, YOUR treats. If you have questions, or need suggestions for how to do this, or would like ideas for specific replacements of foods you know you have a hard time resisting, then let me know. Just leave a comment below and I’ll address it in a future post.

I’m excited to have these little love notes out where all eyes can see.

Okay, so… today I’m going shopping and I’m taking my jogging stroller so that I can just stuff it full of fruits and vegetables! I can FEEL SPRING IS COMING and now I’d like to move out of the cruciferous vegetable and apple season to more juicy fruits!!

Today I’m going to stick to really simple food. Monomeals, in fact. I’m just going to eat apples, or oranges today and drink a lot of water. Maybe in the evening I’ll have a salad because I kinda over did it buying greens this week and haven’t been in the “mood” for eating them.

Tomorrow, I’m going to do a 24 hour fast. At least. I just want to RESET the button on my body–clear my taste buds and get things “out of my system” in preparation for the 90 days to come. Depending on where you’re at with your own food process, you may or may not want to join me in this adventure.

If you’re already a raw vegan and have been for a while, you’ve probably been through this routine before and are comfortable with it. So go for it.

If you’re currently consuming “Oh Henry” bars and bacon and eggs for breakfast, it would be enough for you to simply transition by having a day or two of simple fruit and vegetable meals.

Remember: The priority for this first month is to steer clear of dairy and gluten. If you’ve already been doing that for 5 years, step up the intensity, but getting rid of whatever else seems to be a stumbling path in your process. I know one of the things that I’m going to be significantly reducing during this 90 day process is excessive salt and fat. I can just feel I’ve got wintery foods in my bones and it’s time to SPRING forth with lightness and juicy foods.

Okay, my dear. That’s it for today. I’m off to spend some time in the sun with Mika and Sebastian.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you! I hope your day is spectacular, and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let me know. Just leave a comment and I’ll answer as soon as I can.

Loooove and hugs,

Tera

Here are a couple questions I’ve received about the program so far:

“Is there private access to a special forum where people can journal and meet other 90 Day Detox participants?”

Yes! There is. I’m sorry I forgot to mention that in the announcement letter the other day, but the page has been updated now, to indicate that. If you haven’t seen the announcement for the 90-Day Detox, you can see it here!

“Are you qualified to do this?”

I am most certainly qualified to inspire, support, distribute recipes and refer you to resources that will guide you through this process! I am not accepting any nutritional consultations or attempting to support a deeper tissue detox in the third month. We will have a functional medicine practitioner with us, at that time, who will support clients through that process, for those who wish to take on a more intense detoxification of the tissues.

I’m setting up the list of invites now and will update you soon on our Special Guest panel of “experts” throughout this program. I promised you an interview a week! Stay tuned!

“What are we going to eat during the 90 Days?”

Well, if you’re new around here, you might not realize we have quite a collection of free recipes for you to investigate. You can listerally keep yourself fed for an entire year, just by trying the recipes out on our site. Just do a search, or check out the blog, the Health In High Heels Newsletter, and archives on the main website.

For those of you who have signed up for the full support version (90 Days for 90 Dollars) you’ll aslo be send a complete menu planner for FOUR MONTHS! We’re having them customized for this program.

What great info on preparing. I especially like the tip on what to do if you are already gluten and dairy free (like I am) — reduce fat is what I am focusing on and just simple meals in general! I don’t think I’m going to do the water fast tomorrow just because I’ve been working out so heavy, but I am going to keep things simple with smoothies all day Monday. :-) I’m SO EXCITED about this detox program — filled w/ love and support … and no obsessions LOL :-)

Great tip about decluttering as part of our preparation. It feels like spring is in the air already.
Like Tami I’m gluten and diary free so I’ll go for the reduced fat bit, but not today. I made the yummiest raw falafel and I intent to enjoy every little bit of it!

I tried to get into the journal section, but I was refused. Is it still closed or did I do something wrong?

  3. Keely Says:

I’m sorry Margot! Only those who have paid for the upgrade to full support in the 90 Day Program will have access to the teleseminars, menu planners and the special section in The Powder Room exclusively for them. To all others, it will remain locked. http://therawdivas.com/blog/?p=1130

  4. Thanks, my dear! I appreciate the feedback and I’m glad you’re on board. The full support version with access to the private powder room section is what people are paying $90 for. ;-) The Free version is here! I’ll write posts, give support and suggestions, and you post comments, questions, etc. ;-)

    Mmmmmuah! Here’s to the adventure!

  6. Karen the Klicker Says:

Do grains like rice or quinoa have gluten in them? I would like to use quinoa in some of my meals.

  7. Maria Says:

I’m a bit confused. Where do I go for the free 90 day detox blog?

  8. Sarah Says:

I’m definitely going to join you for 90 days, I’d love to do the upgraded version but being a stay at home mummy these days means I need to watch the finances! However, if you think there’s something I could do for you in return for the upgraded package I’d be happy to help. I have plenty of time, and a background in communications and PR! SX

    Hi!
My family are all doing the 90 day detox program. We are very eager to read are email the next morning. We love our green smoothies. We’ve been adding plantain, lamb’s quarters, dandelion and others wild greens. We feel very good.
My son 14yrs old his skin looks very bad, but we’ll not jump off of the green smoothies wagon. We all decide to help each other. My husband has been eating green smoothies over a year and he is never sick, he has lots of energy. And his gray hair is getting dark again.
    Thanks for the help
    Cris
