Tera Warner

Tera-Ireland-small

Tera is just your average run-of-the-mill kinda gal. She’s got no credentials, so don’t bother looking for them. She’s not got a fancy vocabulary with a whole bunch of scientific words to impress you, either, I’m afraid. She doesn’t even have a big, sparkly house and car to show you how “successful” she is.

But she’s dedicated her life to busting the barriers that keep people from achieving the level of health and vitality they’re looking for. She’s helped tens of thousands of women (and a few courageous men) in more than 15 different countries and her trademark is an unparalleled ability and willingness to support others in achieving transformation through dietary changes and a positive outlook on life.

Tera’s online projects include: Green Smoothie Queen, Body Enlightenment System, Clutter Free Diva and Raw Mom! She invites you to visit these and thanks you for being a part of this community.

Joyce Wiatroski

Following an incidence of breast cancer in 1983, Joyce has pursued a lifestyle based on eating whole foods.

In the mid-90’s, armed with information she researched and successfully applied to her own life, she developed a series of seminars and workshops, It’s Your Choice, encouraging a lifestyle that eliminates processed foods, meat and dairy products.

A lifestyle that along with fresh, whole foods incorporates regular exercise, fresh air, sunshine, and clean drinking water to achieve vibrant health and permanent weight loss.

Since retiring from a successful career in Sales and Marketing she has pursued her passion for vibrant health through study and exploration, while incorporating more raw foods, particularly dark, leafy greens into her vegan diet.

Joyce has reached out to friends, family and the community at large with suggestions for simple food preparations at her Foodie Fumblings blog. She is currently finalizing plans for lifestyle enrichment classes for novices and intermediates beginning in the fall.

Christina Menefee

Christina Menefee

Meet Christina.  She lives in Kentucky with her handsome husband, Bryan, and their 5 beautiful children, Justin 17, Sierra 15, Molly 12, Gunnar 10, and her green smoothie baby, Olivia 2. She has been into health and wellness since she was a teenager and has been a nurse since 1993.

Having children increased her desire to learn more and more about living as healthy and holistically as possible. You can find her on any given day reading a book about raw food, eco-friendly living,  herbal healing, or aromatherapy. She is a big believer in self-education while also having mentors in your area of interest.

Going to the local YMCA  has always been a great way for her to keep fit and sane. When time permits she tries to pick up a yoga class to relax and relieve stress. Getting outdoors, walking the kiddos and running is also a love of hers.

She owns an eco-friendly cleaning company although she is working more towards just being at home with the children. Homeschooling keeps her more than busy!

On the creative side Christina loves to write, sew, and make all natural potions and lotions.

Discovering the raw food diet more than a year and half ago has opened up a whole new world to her. It has totally raised her level of awareness to the possibilities that  abound within the realm of health and wellness.

Since becoming a certified raw food chef and raw food coach, she loves to spread the word about the benefits of the raw food diet.

She is so excited  about this journey she has found herself on and she can’t wait to see where it takes her next!

Check out her blog Living on Liquid Sunshine to see what crazy things she might be up to!

Mary Delasantos

Mary & Hannah 09 - 1smI wasn’t born vegetarian.  While growing up with farm raised meat eating parents I did not leave the table until I ate everything on my plate, meat and vegetables.  That was the rule.  In 2009, at 51 years of age, I still eat everything on my plate.  What is on the plate has, however, changed a great deal.

The first big change came in 1986 when I read Marilyn and Harvey Diamond’s book “Fit for Life.”  I started eating only fruit until noon and then had a salad for lunch and dinner.  The salads were made up mostly of vegetables with a tiny bit of protein thrown in.  That was also the time when I quit eating beef altogether.

I was a senior at the University of Texas.  I was working full time to pay for my education. Studying long hours after work and school toward my Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Management was exhausting.  I found that eating beef made me even more tired; the digestion process just sapped my energy.  I couldn’t afford to be groggy with all that was going on in my life, so the beef had to go.

I gave up dairy somewhere along the way when I discovered that when I did not consume dairy I did not have sinus problems. Poultry never was a huge favorite of mine. That was the meat that I had to add the most sauce to so it would taste good to me.  That left the seafood category as the final ingredient of my omnivorous lifestyle.  I was eating seafood about once a week and decided to stick with that plan.

The final turning point came when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 1989 exactly one year after I was married.  My husband and I were making plans to have a baby.  Those plans changed with the necessity for a hysterectomy.  That huge change in my life was also the impetus to become vegetarian.

I decided from then on that I would make the healthiest food choices that were available to me so I would know that I was doing everything I thought was possible to enjoy a long and healthy life.  So, at the age of 32, I became vegetarian; vegan, to be exact.  It was nearly 20 years later when I changed my diet again, to raw foods.  I stumbled upon this lifestyle totally by accident while cruising the internet.

Although my average day is 100% raw, social situations have created circumstances when I have eaten cooked foods.  I find, though, that when I eat cooked foods now my stomach is distressed and my energy is sapped for a good 24 hours; so, I am working on complete elimination of cooked foods and new ways to make dinner hosts comfortable with that.

I have enjoyed reading about food and nutrition all of my life, but I have had some formal education as well.  At age 35 I was awarded a Diploma from the ICS School of Fitness and Nutrition; at 39 I received a Certificate of Educational Achievement from The Association of Vegetarian Dietitians and Nutrition Educators when I completed their university level course; I also became a Certified Nutritionist at the age of 44 through the American Health Science University’s two year program.

At this time I share my knowledge freely, as a hobby, and hope to become more involved in the nutrition field when I retire from my current career as an apartment manager. In the meantime, I am honored to have the opportunity to share my experiences, ideas, knowledge and recipes with you.

Sarah Womer

sarah_womer

Sarah is many things of which her favourite is being mommy to a radiant beam of love, her two-year old son!

She also regularly (as regularly as motherhood can permit anyway) practices yoga and is a certified instructor, bikes as much as possible, and throws some epic walks and runs in there when the timing works.

She loves to wear shiny 1980’s throw-back pants and rainbow socks, go thrift-store shopping for her everyday clothing needs, and do up her hair like a rock-star (minus the toxic Net of Aqua like the ole days…) because “how can your mood be dark when you’re shining bright?” she likes to say.

When she isn’t having fun dressing like a rainbow, she likes to make delicious healthy treats to cultivate the RAWesome in life and nothing makes her happier than to share them with friends and family.

Writing and reading keep her sane through the trials and tribulations of single-motherhood (as well as a RAWkin’ diet and playful disposition) and believe that she is always writing and reading something! ;)

As her journey has taken her to through the twenty-something destructiveness of partying on through those dark ages to being a healthy, happy, constructive mommy of a healthy, happy, energetic ecstatic little boy, she has now devoted the rest of her time (that isn’t her baby boy’s!) to give back to the world that saved her and keep showing others there can be light for them too! :o

Joanna Steven

portrait2-225x300Joanna was born in France, where she lived for many years before moving to Iowa after marrying her American born husband Matthew. She is a Law graduate from the Rene Descartes Law School of Paris (France), and holds a BS in Psychology from Iowa State University. She is currently working on her Masters in Psychology as well as her Clinical Nutrition degree.

After becoming a vegetarian in 2003, she discovered the raw diet after reading an interview by Tonya Kay on Body Building.com. She now eats a high raw diet with a big emphasis on leafy greens and chlorophyll rich foods – often having them for breakfast, lunch and dinner! She is also happily addicted to raw kale chips.

Aside from writing for the Raw Divas and Raw Mom blogs, she has published several eBooks (the Raw Nutritional Analysis series)with Tonya Kay, and regularly blogs (Joannas Blog) about raw foodism. She was also published in the Spring 09 edition of Get Fresh! magazine.

In her free time, she enjoys growing organic veggies in her backyard, and endlessly spoiling her cats and husband. She also loves feeding green smoothies, creamy raw cakes and other raw delights to her friends, and watch them enjoy every last bite!

Linda Douglas, Ph.D., R.D.

Linda's Photo3I am a homeschooling wife and mom, who has M.S and Ph.D. degrees in Food Science, (yeah, that’s a real degree in residence program!) and is a registered dietitian with a B.S. in Dietetics.  I’ve worked in the food industry and was previously an assistant professor of dietetics.  Just a little hint: there are many dietitians who are open to at least a high raw message, so don’t knock them before you try to convert them!

After finding raw foods in 2003, I began transitioning myself to a high raw, natural lifestyle and introducing as much raw food as possible into my family’s meals.  The Raw Mom Summit was a real turning point for me, and allowed me to see that I could blend my training and skills with natural living.

My interests are more focused on high raw, gluten and dairy-free living, rather than 100% raw food, as my family is not vegan and may never want go in that direction. However, we eat about 70-80% raw and have given milk and almost all processed food products the boot.  I have successfully transitioned my husband and kids to a high-raw diet that they love, including my son (who is mildly autistic and used to HATE all veggies).  They even relish marinated kale!

Doll Creelman

DollI started my first Raw Diva program in April 2008 with the 7-Day Detox.  From there to the support and information of the Body Enlightenment System a couple months later.  Feels like I’ve been part of the Raw Diva family for a long time.

With the invitation last December to be part of the Cozy Coaching Group and to help out with some volunteer hours I realized just how much I love the raw food world. I have many passions in my life.  Sharing my experiences with everyone here is one of them.

I’m mom to 4 beautiful daughters and wife and partner to a wonderful guy.  Nick supports everything that I do and especially those things that bring me joy, peace and love.  In the other areas of my life I’m Minister of Music at a local church and enjoy the fiber arts.  From sheep to shawl (or socks)  I enjoy it all.

I’m the person on the other end of the customer service help line and answer your pressing questions about all things Diva.

You can find me Sunday nights where I host The Raw Diva’s Cozy Coaching Call.

Life is filled with many gifts and I intend to open as many as I can!
